About Industrial Leak Test Consulting - Leak Test Expert - Education AND Training
Industrial leak testing is not just my profession, it’s something I genuinely enjoy. It’s a topic I’m passionate about sharing, challenging, and educating others on beyond my day-to-day role as Managing Director of Nolek Inc, the U.S. entity within the Nolek Group.
This platform exists to challenge how leak testing is approached.
Too often, leak testing is treated as a checkbox at the end of a production line. Pass or fail. Good or bad. But in reality, a leak test is a measurement system, and its value depends entirely on how well it connects to the product’s real-world function.
After more than 25 years working in industrial leak testing, vacuum systems, and manufacturing environments, I have seen the same challenges repeat across industries. Leak rates are often defined without a true functional basis. Test methods are selected based on habit instead of physics. Data is collected but not always fully understood or used to improve the process.
The result can be false confidence, unnecessary scrap, missed failures, and products that do not perform as intended in the field.
This page is an extension of my personal brand, Leak Test Expert, a direct and focused platform created to make it easier for engineers, quality teams, and manufacturers to find practical insight and real-world expertise.
My goal is to help organizations rethink leak testing as a process discipline, not just a piece of equipment. From defining meaningful leak rate requirements, to selecting the right test methodology, to ensuring results that can be trusted, the objective is always the same:
A leak test should not just sort parts. It should prove performance.
This is where I share insights, challenge assumptions, and help connect design intent, manufacturing capability, and product quality through better leak testing.
