Het doel van de Nederlandse Straatdokters Groep, als uitvoerend onderdeel van de Doctors for Homeless Foundation, is het uitdragen van lessen van de straat, over het bieden van sociaal medische zorg aan kwetsbare burgers in de marge van de samenleving. Het gaat om het delen van specifieke kennis uit wetenschappelijk onderzoek en ervaringen uit het veld, met en voor ervaringsdeskundigen en hulpverleners die werkzaam zijn in de zorg voor mensen in sociale en medische exclusie, voor en tijdens dakloosheid.

The aim of the Doctors for Homeless Foundation featuring the Netherlands Streetdoctors Group is to share lessons of social and medical care for vulnerable marginally housed and homeless people, in practice and research. Together with former homeless peers, helpers in the social and health sector we care for all who are in social and medical exclusion, before and during homelessness.
