ICAT, embedded within the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU), is dedicated to accelerating the development and clinical application of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). These groundbreaking therapies, which include gene, cell, and tissue-based products, harness the body's natural ability to repair itself and fight disease.

The core of ICAT's mission is to bridge the gap between scientific discovery ("bench") and patient treatment ("bedside"). It provides a seamless path for complex medical innovations by integrating all necessary stages: from early-stage development and preclinical studies to GMP compliant manufacturing.
