About Global Human Rights Defence

Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) is an international human rights organization which focuses specifically on those areas and populations of the world where severe and extensive human rights violations have continued unabated over long periods of time and where structural help and global attention of governments, international institutions and the media have failed to reach.

GHRD operates through three main pillars: human rights reporting, humanitarian aid and human rights education (in the region, the Netherlands and throughout Europe). The mission of GHRD is to actively promote the respect for human rights, with specific emphasis on the rights of minority and marginalized groups, such as religious, ethnic, linguistic and sexual minorities, as well as women and children and to form an international platform to inform, influence and demand efforts from the relevant organizations and authorities.
