About Global Empowerment Direct

Global Empowerment Direct is a specialist advisory practice in governance, rule of law, justice reform, and gender, founded in 2018 by Krystal K. Thompson, whose 25 years inside complex institutional environments span Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central America.

GED advises international organizations, development banks, governments, and businesses: institutional assessments and diagnostics, judicial reform, court administration, legal aid systems, gender-based violence prevention, anti-trafficking, and GBV/SEAH safeguarding frameworks. The work spans more than 25 countries.

Alongside that work, GED is home to a harder conversation: what demanding institutions cost the people inside them, and what it takes to stay steady over a long career. The 25 Years In series grew from there.

GED is built on one conviction: institutions that do not sustain their people cannot sustain their mission.
