About Fundashon Awenyo

Fundashon Awenyo is a Curaçao-based nonprofit organization working to strengthen the human and institutional capacity that underpins effective education systems. Our focus is youth empowerment, educator development, and the creation of learning resources that support both academic growth and the social development of young people.

We work in collaboration with schools, education leaders, ministries, and community partners to design and facilitate programs that build leadership, responsibility, and reflective practice in learning environments. Our approach emphasizes empowerment, collaborative learning, and long-term capacity-building rather than short-term interventions.

Our work centers on three interconnected areas:

Teacher Capacity-Building Supporting educators to strengthen pedagogical practice, leadership, and their ability to foster purposeful, inclusive learning environments.

Youth Empowerment & Leadership Development Accompanying young people in developing confidence, moral agency, collaboration skills, and a sense of contribution to their communities.

Curriculum & Learning Resource Development Designing locally relevant educational materials that integrate service, teamwork, and community engagement into learning processes.

Through these integrated efforts, Awenyo seeks to contribute to learning environments where young people grow not only in knowledge, but in character, responsibility, and the capacity to contribute constructively to society.
