One of the main reasons is the tsunami of international, regional and national rules, regulations and reporting obligations. It stifles the growth of renewable volumes due to the hassle and financial risk associated with the compliance bookkeeping, reporting and traceability for renewable fuel companies. This compliance bookkeeping is largely done manually driven by PDF documents, emails and exploded spreadsheets for conversions and mass balancing. As this is extremely error prone it leads to financial compliance risks (fines and certificate suspensions) and inefficiencies. It has people busy with mind numbing data entry and checking while their expertise should be deployed to the exceptions and corrective measures. At FuelFWD we approached this major industry problem with a radically new perspective: a software solution that brings traceability and auditability while being extremely flexibel, adaptive and user friendly. It should be able to deal with rapid innovation, legislative changes and different reporting requirements while being certification, feedstock- and fuel-agnostic. What we developed is a unique set of AI powered software solutions that radically reduce compliance risks and massively improves efficiency, allowing traders, processors and distributors of renewable fuels to focus on their core business and grow without increasing their compliance bookkeeping costs.
