About Foundation FESTAS

The Foundation FESTAS (“Fundacion pa Educacion y Sciencia Technologico di Awa Sustenibel”), which stands for Foundation for Education and Technological Science in Sustainable Production of Water, was established to sustain education and science, and research and innovation in the field of sustainable water technology. The objective of the foundation is to generate funds through legitimate national and international organizations to support the on-going development of three very important initiatives related to the sustainability of our Caribbean waters.

• The UNESCO Chair Sustainable Water Technology and Management at the University of Curacao, and to ultimately convert the Chair to the Caribbean "Center of Excellence"​ for sustainable and environmentally friendly seawater desalination technologies and water cycle management.

• Scholarship Programs for students of the UNESCO Chair for the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Water Technology as a specialization.

• Pre, primary and secondary educational programs based on UNESCO's Water Education for Teachers (WET) concept.
