About FemLab

FemLab.Co is an IDRC seed funded and transnational initiative that is dedicated to rethinking and redesigning the future of work in the Global South. Our team is interdisciplinary, coming from the fields of law, media, sociology, computer science and anthropology. We are committed to thinking, engaging and mobilizing stakeholders invested in fostering opportunities for precarious workers, reducing harms from automation and contributing to a sustainable global value chain.

We are 1) Insight Driven: we build user & stakeholder insight through ethnographic engagement; 2) Engagement Driven: we make legal knowledge accessible through multimedia storytelling; and 3) Design Driven: we guide in ethical design & deployment for empowering workers from below.We welcome collaborators of all kinds to engage with us in this pursuit.
