About Etalia

Etalia is an AI-powered platform for formative assessment in universities, universities of applied sciences, and secondary schools.

We built Etalia to make high-quality practice and personalised feedback available to every student, while giving teachers clearer insight without adding to their grading workload.

With Etalia, teachers can quickly create and assign relevant practice material throughout a course. Students answer open questions and receive instant personalised feedback that helps them identify their knowledge gaps. As students practise, teachers receive clear insights into individual and cohort performance, without spending extra time on grading.

Etalia has been developed by a small, enthusiastic team in close collaboration with teachers and students. Over the past 2.5 years, we have run multiple pilots at the University of Amsterdam, where Etalia has supported around 800 students and provided AI-generated feedback on more than 2,000 submissions.

The platform connects to existing academic workflows through LTI 1.3, supports institutional login and deployments, and is designed with European privacy and data-governance requirements in mind. Etalia is currently available in Dutch and English, and additional languages can be added on request.

After years of building, testing, learning, and improving, we are excited to share Etalia more widely with schools and institutions that want to make personalised feedback practical at scale.
