About Erasmus Sustainability Hub
The Erasmus Sustainability Hub is a collaborative effort of sustainable student initiatives based on the Erasmus University campus. By creating a community that stimulates collaborative change through sustainable actions and initiatives, we aim to grow awareness and teach individuals to incorporate sustainability into their daily lives. Our ideas and projects evolve from the local issues we observe on campus, as well as the global issues we are personally passionate about. Our inspirations are not limited to our own observations and passions – for this reason, we are always open to anyone who has an idea to connect with us, so we can realize the vision for a better future together. We work on long-term projects as well as smaller events, primarily on the topics of Waste, Food & Agriculture, and Fashion.
The ESH aims to: - Cluster and host all sustainability initiatives and groups of people on the Woudestein campus; - Interlink sustainability efforts within education, research, operations, and outreach, in order to grasp the full potential of our organization’s strengths; - Create an ongoing buzz on sustainability for creating cultural change, building awareness and improving environmental literacy; - Initiate, drive and execute continuous improvement efforts within operations, to find creative solutions for environmental and social problems; - Collaborate with corporate partners and other stakeholders in a structural way.
The ESH aims to change the university’s operations in two ways: - Visible and tangible projects that can be directly seen and felt by students and staff; - Behind the scenes operations that are indirectly experienced by students and staff.
We hold an Education & Research portfolio whose purpose is to kick start change at two levels: - At the institutional level, by introducing long-term programs through university management and partnerships - At the student level, by informing and giving the theoretical basis of sustainability.
