Founder & Initiative Coordinator Sophie H. Turner Sophie, an Australian native, has embraced a global journey, enriching her perspective through diverse cultural experiences. After growing up in Melbourne, she moved to Washington, DC, in her mid-20s, spending eight transformative years before settling in Amsterdam, Europe’s innovation hub. With a wealth of knowledge and unwavering determination, Sophie is dedicated to catalyzing positive change.

Inspiration and Journey Sophie’s passion for community action arises from her belief in the power of collaboration and shared experiences. Her own challenges and observations of others’ struggles inspired her to launch Empowered By Us. The organization serves as a crucial platform for amplifying marginalized voices, ensuring they play a vital role in developing policies that affect their lives.

Through her leadership, Sophie has reshaped her strategic vision to focus on resilience, collaboration, and inclusivity.
