The Dutch Institute for Safe and Secure Spaces (DISSS) is committed to creating a more safe, secure and resilient society. How? By transforming security research into solutions that protect communities and individuals, while preserving what makes a society welcoming and vibrant.

We are an independent non-profit research and technology organisation that partners with governments, researchers, industry and citizens across Europe and the Netherlands. Moreover, we lead and contribute to EU-funded projects under Horizon Europe and ISF-P. We turn complex research into practical tools that address real-world security challenges.

We deliver evidence-based training, living labs, and knowledge transfer that transforms research into practical solutions. By engaging stakeholders, from local governments and researchers to industry and citizens, we make publicly funded security research visible, accessible, and actionable.
