Currently many crane owning and operating companies use crane mats made from tropical hardwood to drive over with their cranes. By using this type of wood in these large amounts, the rainforests around the world shrink rapidly. Even protected forests are cut down for the production of wood. Dragonwood is the first company in the world that supplies sustainable, strong and long lasting crane mats, made from bamboo composite. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world and by making the crane mats from bamboo we provide an environmental friendly substitute for tropical hardwood. The products from Dragonwood absorb more CO2 during their production and use than they emit: a negative CO2 footprint!
