January 2018 Esther started her own company (Dr Metting Medical Scientific Support). The aim of the company is twofold: 1) facilitating training opportunities for researchers in the North of the Netherlands, 2) supporting organizations and companies in patient centered studies.

1) In the past years Esther discovered that the training opportunities in the North of the Netherlands are scarce. Especially in the field of qualitative research. During her PhD Esther performed several qualitative studies and she recognizes the importance of enough training possibilities. Therefore Dr Metting Medical Scientific Support brings trainers from other areas of the Netherlands to Groningen.

2) Above that, Dr Metting Medical Scientific Support can help with moderating focus groups. Companies can be supported with scientific patient centered support. For example with implementing eHealth tools or executing questionnaire studies.
