WE ENABLE DECOMMISSIONING Across the North Sea, approximately 500 Dutch, British and Norwegian platforms and 8000+ subsea wells are waiting to be decommissioned over the next 15-20 years. This high-growth market is expected to generate 100-130 billion USD in project revenues in total. Many international players (esp. in the service sector) have been positioning themselves to capture a share of this market, mainly focusing on technology innovation and scale effects. However, while a few of these decom projects have been executed, the timing of the vast majority of them still remains highly uncertain: Decommissioning has been postponed for years, building up a “bow wave” of potential offshore activity.
