About Cycling out of Poverty CooP-Africa

CooP-Africa (Cycling out of Poverty-Africa) is a charity organisation based in the Netherlands, Belgium, Uganda and Kenya. We improve access to income generation, education and health care by bicycles, and we promote sustainable, liveable, cycling inclusive cities. We believe that a bicycle can make a difference in this world for reasons of health, education, poverty alleviation and environment. We implement social projects: -BIKE4WORK: to improve access to income -BIKE4SCHOOL: to improve access to education -BIKE4CARE: to improve access to health care -Bicycle Ecosystem: to promote more people to be able to safely use a bicycle

The support the social projects, the following social enterprises were founded: -THE GREEN HUB: bicycle center for innovative bicycle assembly and repair -BIKEVENTURES: bicycle tours and rentals.

WHY THE BICYCLE? The bicycle provides possibilities for better access to income, education and health, and improves the socioeconomic position of African families. Besides, the bicycle is an environmentally-friendly mode of transport which provides opportunities for a sustainable society.
