About Child Health UMC Utrecht

We focus on the healthy development of a child, from pre-conception to adulthood. Our interdisciplinary child-centered research ranges from fundamental to translational to longitudinal applied medical research.

In our strategic Child Health program interdisciplinary teams of patients, clinicians and investigators – from bench to bedside to society - are dedicated to develop disease prevention strategies as well as safe treatment options for children. With science and research, we provide the best possible care, today and in the future.

Our research Areas:

• Ante- and perinatal damage: care and research form periconceptional, antenatal and perinatal phases up to Neonatal Intensive care and research. • Congenital and hereditary disorders: congenital diseases of the heart, liver and kidney. • Severe inflammatory disorders: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Cystic Fibrosis and Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infections. • Pediatrics and oncology: treatment of cancer in children in close collaboration with the Princes Maxima Center.
