The non-profit Foundation Center for Motivation and Change (CMC) is committed to the promotion of professional development and quality improvement of methods for professional communication and behavior change. CMC develops, supports and provides training and workshops in communication and methods of behavioral change. This happens in different organizational settings, in different countries and in different cultures, with priority for optimum quality. CMC has been doing this since 1997 for organizations in the field of education, health care, addiction and dependency, lifestyle issues, health, service delivery and organizational change. The work of CMC is based on the principles and strategies of motivational interviewing (MI). The aim is not to impose change from the outside, but to build intrinsic motivation. To achieve this, a clear sense of purpose and directivity is necessary, accompanied by a non-authoritarian and client-oriented style of communicating. CMC streeft naar de promotie van deskundigheidsbevordering en kwaliteitsverbetering van methoden voor communicatie en gedragsverandering. CMC ontwikkelt, ondersteunt en geeft trainingen en workshops in communicatie en methoden van gedragsverandering. Dit gebeurt in verschillende organisatorische settings, in verschillende landen en binnen diverse culturen, met prioriteit voor optimale kwaliteit. CMC doet dit al sinds 1997 voor organisaties op het terrein van educatie, gezondheidsmanagement, verslaving en afhankelijkheid, leefstijlproblematiek, gezondheidsbevordering, dienstverlening en organisatieverandering. Het werk van CMC is gebaseerd op de principes en strategieën van Motivational Interviewing (MI). Het doel hierbij is niet om verandering van buitenaf op te leggen, doch om intrinsieke motivatie op te bouwen. Om dit te kunnen bereiken, is een duidelijk besef van doel gerichtheid en directiviteit noodzakelijk, gepaard gaande aan een niet autoritaire en cliënt-gerichte stijl van handelen.
