The center investigates the role of religion in ‘secular’ societies, challenging traditional secularization theories. While modernization was expected to lead to religious decline, contemporary transformations—such as globalization, digitalization, and neoliberalization—have reshaped religious expressions. The research explores how secular and religious spheres interact, where religious elements persist in public life, and how institutions adopt religious-like characteristics.
