Bouwpartijen in de sector spreken nu nog een verschillende taal. Dit belemmert ketenintegratie en de verdere implementatie van BIM. Daarom wordt op initiatief van de BouwInformatieRaad (BIR) de Nederlandse conceptenbibliotheek voor de gebouwde omgeving’, ofwel CB-NL, ontwikkeld. De CB-NL is geen nieuwe producten- of objectenbibliotheek erbij. Het wordt juist een definiërende, uniformerende taal, die als het ware tussen bestaande standaarden, normen en object-/productbibliotheken in komt te staan.
