Capriolus Collectable Ceramics is an online gallery for ceramic art. This one-man business started in 2000 by Ger J.M. de Ree (1945). De Ree began his working life in the ready-made clothing trade. He worked for 33 years as buyer of children's clothes for a large international retail company. In this capacity Mr. de Ree travelled extensively throughout Europe and also further afield. Thus he and his wife resided in New York / Manhattan for a year, and another year he and his family lived in Madrid. During all these years his interest in ceramics has, in the broadest sense, continued to grow. After he bid farewell to the ready-to-wear trade he established Capriolus. Capriolus is the Latin name for De Ree. It is De Ree's passion to share his interest and enthusiasm for the ceramic object - shaped from pliable clay and fired for permanence - with other interested parties. We buy, mediate between collectors and endeavour to have our objects find their way to enthusiastic collectors and museums. During the past years The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, The Jewish Historical Museum Amsterdam, The Historical Museum Rotterdam, The Limburg Museum Venlo, The Netherlands Tile Museum Otterlo, The National Ceramics' Museum Princessehof Leeuwarden purchased objects from / through us, as did many important private collectors in The Netherlands and abroad.
