Many cold stores, polder-managers, hospitals, data centers have a degree of flexibility in their power consumption. They posses Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) systems, heating- and cooling systems and pumping installations with a collective capacity to shortly adjust their energy demand profile. By monitoring their potential range of flexibility, we can monetize on these existing systems by automatically adjusting their demand profile depending on profitable price fluctuations on the electricity market. This swarm of flexible power units creates a virtual battery that can both deliver and take up power, enabling CE to serve both sides of the need for balance management needs. CE reimburses the customer whose flexibility is exploited with a margin of the revenues made and retains 25-50%.
