In 1883, Dirk Boomsma opened a distillery in Leeuwarden at the foot of the Oldehove tower. Little did he know that his name and his life’s work would live on to this day. The fifth generation of Boomsmas, Saskia and Chantoine, continue to build on his dream. With the same dedication and international ambitions.

From day one, Boomsma has produced genevers, Beerenburger and liqueurs (which we still produce according to our age-old recipes). In addition, Boomsma offers a range of foreign spirits such as Glen Talloch Whisky, Esbjaerg Vodka and Old Captain Rum. And since the early 1970s, we have been importing quality wines from traditional and emerging wine regions all over the world.
