Under the motto of Pure Dance/ Non-Fiction, they formulate new principles of dance and performances for the theater and on location. BA creates a focus on the body standing up to the pressures of living in a complex reality, occupied by everyday obligations to perform, to conform, to invent, to react and to improvise. In place of the “solution” of forming and performing our lives as defined by an identity, the work of BA promotes a commonality between people that belongs to the anonymous experience of truly sharing human sensibilities. Interdisciplinary by nature, Bodies Anonymous mixes contemporary music, video and exquisite movement technique with clear subjective interpretation of the dancers. BA’s use of media is about creating contexts that frame an abstract modern theater dance language, placing the non-verbal, kinetic transmission squarely in the center of communication. BA is finding out how dance and the physicalization of body contents can trigger the feelings and knowledge that are normally not permitted in public space. Gallagher believes in a body with many voices is the foundation of ethics.
