Bluespar is a founder-led advisory firm helping companies make human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) work in complex supply chains, where visibility is incomplete, leverage is uneven and responsibility extends beyond direct control.

Our approach is grounded in more than 25 years of operational and commercial experience in shipping, procurement, logistics and global supply chains.

Companies are usually more familiar with risks to the business than with adverse impacts on people and the environment. Those perspectives need to connect, but they are not the same. HREDD remains focused on impacts, while relevant findings should inform procurement, risk management, governance and escalation when business judgement is required.

Done well, HREDD also strengthens the evidence base for impact materiality. It brings value-chain assessments, supplier engagement, grievances, incidents and stakeholder perspectives into the company’s understanding of its most significant impacts.

Policies, questionnaires and assessments are only part of the answer. The harder question is whether the information changes sourcing, supplier engagement, risk escalation and management decisions.

Bluespar works with boards, senior leaders and teams across procurement, supply chain, finance, legal, risk, compliance and sustainability. We also work with NGOs and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
