Miriam Slaats, international multidisciplinary artist, is the woman behind BLOB ART and is also the founder of the BLOB art.movement, a movement that aims to initiate projects between art and plastic in the broadest sense of the word.

Plastic is a material that works for us as 'the beauty', but also against us as 'the beast', says Slaats. To keep the earth healthy, we will have to start dealing differently with the overwhelming amount of plastic. It is a process of awareness, searching for an appropriate balance, and thus creating a new balance. With her BLOB ART she transforms waste plastic into art. A process of rebirth.

In the creation of the BLOB ART . HANDLE WITH CARE . connector series, Slaats was inspired by the plastic she literally took out of the dumpster.

With this new work Miriam Slaats wants to convey a message to the world, to draw attention to what plastic, in all its dimensions, means for the universe and to us as humanity. It can no longer be ignored from our lives, but we can be conscious of how we use it... Let's 'HANDLE WITH CARE' !
