Axel Daniël Drieënhuizen is geboren op 17 oktober 2009. In januari 2010 is de diagnose van een ernstige levensbedreigende stofwisselingsziekte vastgesteld, een perixisomale afwijking in het Zellwegerspectrum. De meervoudig complexe handicap als gevolg van zijn ziekte en de onduidelijke levensverwachting, geven een onzekere toekomst. Axel doet er toe en is met een reden op de wereld.
