Founded in the Netherlands by Dick Sterk, Marianne de Feijter, and Roel Wessels, Awesome was created after years of hearing the same frustration from practitioners: compliance work is too manual, fragmented, and time-consuming for modern organizations.

In 2025, Awesome raised €1.2 million led by Horizon Flevoland and leading legal tech investors to accelerate product development and support expansion across Europe.
