About Asclepius UHS

The world has been developing more rapidly than ever before. In a world where the main trade has become knowledge, and manual labour is no longer essential to a lot of industries, citizens are increasingly moving away from the countryside and into cities. Unfortunately, this new human habitat is also accompanied by a plethora of challenges including health-related problems such as extreme proximity to disease reservoirs in other organisms and high degrees of air and water pollution. Respectively, this can have any range of consequences from cardiovascular disease to pulmonary difficulties. Future developments such as population growth, the further expansion of cities, and an increasing number of urban citizens all contribute to a higher density of social networks providing an ideal venue for outbreaks of diseases to spread more rapidly than ever. Interventions and prevention methods have only proven effective to a certain extent because of a lack of communication and a common tongue between pharmaceutical companies, health organisations, governments and control and prevention specialists. Based on Ancient Greek mythology, the Aesculapian Rod signifies health today. Asclepius Urban Health Services (UHS) will provide the missing link between healthcare experts, governments and urban planners to be able to address these challenges in an effective manner. Asclepius UHS will provide a collaborative platform to create a mutual understanding of the actions required. The goal is to offer a consulting services based on multidisciplinary expertise and design to unite these stakeholders to better address and adapt their actions to the needs of the public.
