About Aincient

Egyptologist Heleen Wilbrink founded award winning social enterprise Aincient to facilitate easier research on ancient cultures using the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Aincient launched in beta an AI museum tool (Cleo) with the help of the National Museum of Antiquities, the Brooklyn Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Walters Art Museum, Goldmund, Wyldebeast & Wunderliebe, Google and the SIDN Fund.

Cleo connects multiple international museum collections. AI speeds up research by facilitating image recognition (searching for similar objects) and automated translations. Although Aincient is focusing on museum collections of ancient Egypt, the model is scalable to other sectors where a lot of visual data is being analyzed.
