African Women Rights Advocates (AWRA) is a Network of activists, advocates, and leaders united in the mission to advance gender equality and protect the rights of women and girls across Africa. We are dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in key areas such as human rights, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, female genital mutilation (FGM) elimination, and advocating for comprehensive policy reforms to safeguard women’s rights.

Through partnerships with grassroots organizations, community leaders, and international bodies, AWRA drives meaningful change by combining advocacy, capacity building, and community engagement. We are committed to fostering a future where African women and girls can live free from violence, discrimination, and harmful practices, empowered to reach their full potential. Our work spans digital advocacy, public awareness campaigns, policy influence, and social entrepreneurship, creating a ripple effect of change throughout the continent
