ZON-PTC is a non-profit organization that focuses on patient care, innovation, training and research, with ambitions to become one of Europe’s key technology driven health care providers. The advanced cancer treatment offered at ZON-PTC is expected to provide critical health care services to 400 patients every year. The main focus of ZON-PTC lies in the treatment of oncological diseases through proton radiation therapy. The construction of the proton therapy centre is to take place on the Maastricht Health Campus and is to be integrated into MAASTRO clinic and the general university hospital infrastructure and research facilities. More specifically, ZON-PTC will have the following mission statement: I. Providing the optimal treatment with proton therapy for cancer patients in south-east of the Netherlands. II. Supporting scientific research from Maastricht UMC on proton therapy and making beam time available for research.
