Over Ziggy Mobility

Ziggy Mobility is a SocialTech company from the Netherlands on a mission to bring people closer. We invented the Ziggy, a patented wheelchair accessory that allows caregivers and wheelchair users to walk side-by-side.

This creates natural communication, eye contact, and a greater sense of equality. The idea was born in 2019 when Nicole, a physiotherapist, realized how disconnected it felt to walk behind the wheelchair of her daughter, Yrsa. Together with engineers from the TU Delft, clinitians from Erasmus MC and Rijndam Revalidatie, and user groups, Ziggy was co-developed, showing how a simple redesign can transform mobility and social connection.

Ziggy attaches easily to many wheelchair types and is certified as a medical device. Our team is dedicated to creating mobility solutions that improve human connection and everyday interaction.
