We are WeMotion. We move people towards the future, towards each other, and we do not move alone... The current media storm of global social crises calls out to us young entrepreneurs to raise new solutions and join forces across the world in search of knowledge and shared vision. Our origins define us, the movement brings us together to grow and learn. We consider ourselves part of a strong new generation that looks at the world differently. We believe in the nature of mankind which holds the philosophy of Unbuntu: “I am because we are”. A world were every individual understands the power of the community and acts in the interest of our global village. WeMotion serves as a bridging platform, establishing exchange of knowledge, inspiration and network between Europe and Southeast Africa. This often-neglected part of the continent, whose very own economic revolution lies just around the corner, is teeming with young, hardworking and ambitious businessmen and –women with multi-colored backgrounds, uniquely qualified to help solve today’s issues with expertise we here can provide. Vice versa, the African sense of culture and community could tip the scales in perfecting ‘rough diamond’ projects in the West. Our initiative revolves around a profile-based website where our ‘Youngpreneurs’ can identify themselves and their work, and search for like-minded people to connect with; a crowdsource platform for matching ideas and projects that can lead to fruitful connections and new, socially inspired co-creations. It is our job to enable this exchange, facilitate physical and long-distance contact, and feed our community with news, trends and up-to-date insights. To kick-start our efforts, a group of 8 ambassadors from both continents will share their stories, while mentors offer guidance to those who wish to build or improve on local and international initiatives focused on social development and sustainability.
