Over Wavescapesmusic

Wavescapes is a collaboration between Amsterdam based producers Len van de Laak and Tim Barning. Originally meeting through their music studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, they discovered that their strength and passion lies in creating emotional sonic landscapes that colorfully evolve as their music unfolds, and reach deep into the listener.

After making their mark in the Dutch music business, working together with artists such as Hans Dulfer, Dotan, Bertolf, Sandra van Nieuwland, and Gruppo Sportivo, they now decide it is time to share their universe of sounds with the world. Len and Tim are driven by the seemingly simple goal of creating music that can be what it wants to be. Music without any restrictions or rules. Ethereal music in all its freedom.

The tracks of Wavescapes, often born at an old black upright piano, are transformed into new dimensions by using sounds from vintage synthesizers, and badly maintained tape machines, reminiscent of the sci-fi movies from their childhood. Their music offers organic and synthetic sounds arrangedin hypnotic structures with a strong cinematic quality. Their upcoming debut album will be released through Access (by PIAS).

In September 2019 Wavescapes tracks Circe and Kaleidoscope were used by HUGO BOSS to promote their Spring/Summer 2020 Fashion Show in Milan.
