Over WadSED

The estuaries of the Wadden Sea and the EMS- Dollard and Western Scheldt have nationally important navigation channels and important ecosystems on tidal flats and coastal wetlands, which also protect the coast against storms. But dredging costs are high, biodiversity is declining and the sea level is rising. These threats requires proactive management of sediment. WadSED will thus develop system understanding, data analysis tool and forecasting models to future proof coastal management.

WadSED comprises of three work packages on data, modelling and impact analysis, supported by one more work package on programme management and coordination.
