Van der Velde Procurement Consultancy is focussing on supporting customers in making a significant upgrading of their value creation from their procurement function. Based on experience what works in the market, not based on full colour PowerPoint's concepts.

In most cases this means changing the way of working of the entire organisation. Getting your materials or services is too important to leave to a number of buyers in a department working in isolation. On the other hand, it is also too important to leave to willing "amateur"​ buyers that non trained procurement professionals frequently are. Having the right cost, service levels and flexibility requires a cross functional, company-wide approach, independently if the focus is either Direct - or Indirect Materials and Services.

The approach that we take is as simple as it is effective: 1. ensure that the procurement strategy support the business strategy, e.g. design your strategy cross functional 2. make targets and results real, realistic and visible, recognised by the CFO and the finance teams 3. talk and market procurement in words the internal and external stakeholders understand 4. work from real data that links to ERP’s and P&L’s 5. be a reliable business partner that tells good, but also bad news, in time so the business can anticipate
