Over V4SAFETY project
Funded by the EU, V4SAFETY developed a simulation-based safety assessment framework designed to protect both drivers and vulnerable road users (VRUs). By improving the way safety is evaluated, the project contributes to more effective policies, safer vehicles, and ultimately, safer roads.
After 36 months of research and collaboration, the project concluded with key outcomes that contribute to improving road safety worldwide. V4SAFETY’s results provide a solid foundation for the virtual evaluation of safety innovations, enhancing comparability and reliability of safety assessments. This is a crucial step toward bridging the gap between technical advances and real-world market impact. The V4SAFETY consortium, led by TNO, consisted of following international partners: BMW, BASt, Chalmers, Frauenhofer IVI, IDIADA, IKA, LAB France, SWOV, THI, TME, UNIFI, VIF, VCC, ZF, ERTICO, W2Economics.
