UTOPIA is an innovative user-friendly software framework for precision farming. This open-source platform allows creating an accurate digital twin of a real-world farm. With no special training, users of UTOPIA can map the farmland, collect information from various sources about crops and indicate the problem areas of a field. Moreover, any kind of autonomous driving vehicles, drones or other automated agricultural machinery can be easily integrated into the UTOPIA world. Having the automated “virtual farm” at their disposal, farmers can automatically generate the routes for the drones or other autonomous vehicles and monitor the fields consistently, receiving almost real-time updates on their condition. The automated framework will help spend less time on monitoring and data processing, which will allow the farmers to react to changing conditions quickly and, as a result, increase the yields. UTOPIA framework is well suited for precision farming in hard-to-reach areas like vineyards or seaweed farms in the open sea.
