Over Uniplastic Wageningen

Uniplastic is a social enterprise that wants to create a more sustainable world through plastic recycling. This plastic recycling is done in our own workshop, which is located in the building of a former student association. In this workshop, six people with a disability are actively engaged in shredding and melting down the collected plastic.

The concept is simple: we pick up plastic that would normally end up in residual waste. For example plastic from restaurants and student association. The collected plastic will eventually be recycled into beams. These beams can be used to make furniture or can be sold individually. In this way, we create daytime activities that are closer to society for the people with a disability.

At this moment, we are busy collecting, shredding and melting the plastics. This project is a collaboration of Zideris, Wageningen schoon and students of Enactus Wageningen. Zideris is a living- and workplace for people with a distance to the labor market. Wageningen schoon is a enterprise with the main focus on a clean Wageningen. Enactus Wageningen is a student platform for social enterprise.
