Combining forces. With the goal of supplying the whole world and also anticipating customers'​ changing demands. In 1996, that was the motivation for 28 freesia growers to combine forces. Together the growers decided to sell their freesias via forward trading.

On 29 February 1996 the Growers'​ Association Unicum Freesia was a fact. Within a decade, Unicum has proved its worth as a growers'​ Association. The association now promotes the interests of growers who together represent a total acreage of more than 46 hectares. Annual production: no less than 150 million stems! That size is a guarantee for meeting the demands of a moving market. Unicum Freesia products find their way through an international network of exporters to all parts of the world, by means of forward sales.
