About our project. There is a country left behind on the North-Western side of the African continent. A nation, proclaimed to be Africa’s last colony, is still standing under the illegal rule of the Moroccan government. A territory where people are unable to have a specific political stand or identify with their ethnically Saharawi roots. It drove many Sahrawi people to a particular refugee camp in Tindouf, Algeria, where temperatures reach 55°C regularly during the summers, the water supply draws short, and the houses are weakly built. For these reasons our aim is to fundraise in order to develop the following actions: Build houses for those who can't afford the appropriate materials and workforce. Install water tanks as for many families, water is difficult to access Install air conditioners as temperatures in summer reach 56°C

The founder of our project conducts field investigations to gain first-hand experience on the situation of the camp. We continually track the selected families in need of our help to ensure improvement in their conditions.

Western Sahara refugees live in the Southern-West Algerian desert of a remote and harsh environment. They are solely dependent on foreign aid to fulfill basic human needs such as food, gas, medicine, and water. Under the Sun ultimately aims to improve the living conditions of Western Saharans in the refugee camp in Tindouf, Algeria. We wish to raise awareness about the Western Sahara conflict to gain widespread recognition and help them restore their liberty.
