More than 900 experts and scientists are working within the unit TNO Energy Transition. The ambition of this unit is to accelerate the energy transition together with knowledge institutions, companies and the government so that in 2050 the Netherlands will have an energy regime free of CO2 emissions.

TNO Wind Energy (after merger with ECN) is the Netherlands flagship R&D and services centre for wind energy technologies. In the field of wind energy, TNO is a true pioneer and technical authority. Our internationally leading position has been built up through 40 years of dedicated investment and experience. At TNO, in-depth knowledge of the integral wind power plant system is combined with world leading full scale test facilities and accredited measurement experts.

Today, TNO wind energy’s core mission is to reduce the cost of offshore wind energy. This is achieved by applying innovative solutions in the industry and driving ground breaking R&D forward.
