The Living Bin is the first trash can that looks at waste as a resource, rather than a problem: Introducing your urban closed-looped garden powered by food waste.

Instead of an object to dump and store waste - like we've done since the first commercial bin was invented in 1875 - we are designing an urban garden powered by waste. By putting together modular composting and growing systems, The Living Bin allows you to feed your food waste back into your own closed-loop garden; feeding your plants and ultimately yourself. Why? Most often, organic waste gets thrown out with non-recyclable waste. Consequently, valuable organics are either destroyed in incinerators or generate greenhouse gases when sent to landfills. As we move to a circular economy, we made it our mission to redefine the way we handle our most potent waste stream of all: organic material. Giving it what it deserves - a living ecosystem so it can become a valuable resource again. Again and Again.
