Over The Hand Project

The Hand Project's mission is to promote trust and face to face interaction between strangers, with the long term goal of increasing social cohesion in modern urban communities. To achieve this, we developed a smartphone application that encourages users to ask for help from other users nearby. The possibilities for help requests – while open – are moderated to ensure that they remain fun, friendly and require personal interaction. Users are offered predefined help categories like sports, community work, parties, leisure, music & arts, physical tasks, academic, and help in situations such as flat tires or lost objects. The app also allows local businesses and brands to participate in the network, allowing them unique opportunities to get better known and establish themselves as positive social influencers.
