The Tankfreund is a clever helper for always picking the right fuel for your car. It brings protection for yourself and your car of unnecessary damage and expensive repairs.

Picking the wrong fuel for your car is unfortunately very simple. It takes only a moment of distraction, you go for the wrong fuel pump and the tank is filled with petrol instead of the desired diesel. The consequences are very expensive: towing, emptying and cleaning the entire fuel system can cost from 500 Euros - if you immediately realise the mistake - to many 1.000s of Euros if you start the engine with the wrong fuel.

European automobile clubs are being called thousands of times every year by drivers that picked the wrong fuel (the British automobile club AA alone states 150.000 times a year). However, generally automobile club memberships or car insurances do not cover the costs of resulting damage to the car and other consequences. The driver usually needs to cover the cost of misfuelling.
