Over Swim AND Spin to Fight Cancer Delft

One out of three people will contract cancer over the course of their lives. The foundation “Fight cancer” strives at realizing a situation in which cancer will no longer be fatal, by raising funds to enable more cancer research. One of the initiatives to raise funds, is the so called “Swim to fight cancer” events. This year, this event will take place in Delft on August 27th and August 28th. On August 27th, a Kids Swim will be organized for children aged 6 to 13 years in one of Delfts swimming pools. Children can choose to swim 250 metres, 500 metres or 1.000 metres. A so called swimming certificate A will be required. On August 28th, hundreds of swimmers will be swimming a distance of approximately 2 kilometers in the Rijn-Schie canal, alongside the magnificently restored fortifications of Delft. By battling against the water, all swimmers will hopefully collect as much money as possible for the battle against cancer.
