Over Support Functions Benchmarks

Support Benchmarks is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) of experts in support functions who share performance indicators with each other, in order to create even more value for each other.

The benchmarking data covers support functions such as HR, Finance and Facilities. We foresee that we will go through a number of phases in order to arrive at the ideal model. The phases are described below, using the metaphor of making, growing and selling pies.

Phase 1: Making 'pies' together During this phase we merge our information, namely the key indicators of our support functions. Each contributor receives the whole pie as a reward, in the form of a benchmark report.

Phase 2: Growing our 'pies' Once we have the basics in place, we will mainly look for more professionals who want to participate in this model. During this phase, we check whether the time is right to also collect information about other support functions, such as Legal, Procurement and IT.

Phase 3: Selling our 'pies' As soon as our benchmark reports are mature enough, regarding both the amount and the quality of the data, we will offer them for sale to third parties.

The revenue we bring in is divided based on the share that each contributor has earned by either providing input or by investing time and energy in analyzing the data and preparing the reports. Each member's share is determined by the number of points he/she has earned. In the first phases, we keep track of these points in a simple way.

Phase 4: Optimizing our 'bakery' As soon as we generate sufficient income with our business model, we will invest in optimizing our 'bakery'. In that phase, we examine to what extend the model of a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) fits in with our collaboration. A DAO uses blockchain technology and smart contracts.
