Over Sunovate - project

Sunovate is a project of TNO and supported by the Interreg Flanders-Netherlands program. In the project SUNOVATE we will develop technologies focused on improving the electricity yield of building-integrated solar panels (BIPV) by preventing heating of these panels, and secondly, on reducing the energy consumption of buildings for heating and cooling by smart regulation of solar heat transfer through windows.

The results of SUNOVATE will be used in various ways after the project; developed materials and technologies will be implemented in smart windows, to reduce energy consumption in buildings for heating and cooling as much as possible, and in BIPV panels, to cover the remaining energy needs with locally generated renewable electricity.
